The Ministry of Youth, Sports and Civic Action is to inform the general public and the press in particular that the President of the Republic, René Préval, met on Monday at midday, the Delegation U17

to express his sympathies over the humiliation she suffered in Jamaica, along with his congratulations for the courage she has shown, faced with this situation marked the corner of the arbitrary and discrimination.

The Head of State has informed the delegation that various efforts are underway internationally to protest against this affront to the representatives of Haiti. Besides, the President informed them that a delegation was dispatched to Jamaica for a better reading of this incident has inevitably raised the discontent of the countrymen.

The first representative of the Nation which was accompanied by Minister of Youth, Sports and Civic Action, Mr. Evans Lescouflair, met with the President the Haitian Football Federation, Yves Jean Bart, coaches and players injured in the first place, in order to have a full version of the file.

The President of the Federation, during his account of the event, informed the President of the Republic that Mr. Sepp Blatter, FIFA President, is pleased to present its sympathies, and above all an apology for what happened in Jamaica.

President Preval did not hide his bitterness at Mr. Blatter over the incident which was a real blow to young athletes and the country still struggling to recover from the serious consequences of the earthquake of January 12, 2010.

The Head of State, in the circumstances, formally requested that Mr Blatter's U17 team will have the opportunity to participate in the finals of the U17 World Cup to be held in Mexico, sign repair this harsh insult the people of Haiti is not ready to forget.

The FIFA President has said the same direction as the President of the Republic announcing that he will meet President of CONCACAF in the next 24 hours to consider the request of the Head of State in the sense of redress wrongs done to sport not only for these young athletes but also in Haiti.

After the meeting, the President of the Republic has entrusted to the Minister Evans Lescouflair charging and prosecution of this case which has snowballed worldwide, while maintaining the belief that international bodies will take the matter seriously for the prestige of the sports world.
