ZURICH, Switzerland (defend.ht) - FIFA President Sepp Blatter will inaugurate the new headquarters of the Federation of Haitian Football, next week. The former headquarter was destroyed in the January 12, 2010 earthquake.

ZURICH, Switzerland (defend.ht) - FIFA President Sepp Blatter will inaugurate the new headquarters of the Federation of Haitian Football, next week. The former headquarter was destroyed in the January 12, 2010 earthquake.

Blatter will make the inauguration as part of a six-day trip to the CONCACAF countries, which will also take him to the Dominican Republic, Cuba and Panama.

Blatter starts the tour on the 14th and will make his second stop in Haiti, where in addition to the investment of $4 million [US] for the headquarters of the federation, funds have been allocated to the construction of an artificial turf field, installation of a new lighting system in the Sylvio Cator stadium and the relaunch of the national competitions, among other initiatives.

Also confirmed that FIFA has approved the commissioning of four initiatives "Goal" in Haiti totaling $1.7 million [US], which will add another 600,000 under the "Win in CONCACAF with CONCACAF".

"The support that our sport gave to Haiti after the devastating earthquake of 2010, providing help and hope, is especially significant. The official opening of the headquarters of the Haitian Football Association next week is a symbol of the country's recovery" said Blatter.
