Haiti Women's Soccer Team at Olympic Qualifiers in Vancouver

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - (defend.ht) Looking for one of three places giving access to the London Olympics in 2012, the national women soccer team (Les Grenadiennes) left Port-au-Prince on Tuesday morning to Vancouver (Canada) to begin the final round of qualifying for the Olympic Games of London 2012.

 In order to win one of three tickets available for the 2012 Olympics, Les Grenadiennes, finding itself in group A, must face the country host, Canada, then Cuba and Costa-Rica, with this quadrangular tournament for the final round of this competition.

"In 2003 we played the same tournament there and it was very difficult for our girls because of the climate problem, it was then less than zero degrees. Outside left Canada, we were pretty well" recalled Yves Jean Bart, President of the FHF.

"We have confidence in these girls, and despite our lack of funds, selection will win this competition, beating all his opponents despite the weather," he said.

"We are taking all steps to ensure that the national team trip in better condition," said Yves Jean Bart.

Further, the coach of the Ronald Luxurious, admitted that "We never had a good selection like this, I believe that with these players experienced and courageous, we will make a difference and go to London for the Olympic Games. "

The top two from each group will contest the semi-finals. The finalists and the winner of the small final qualify to take part in the finals of the Olympic Games in London (England) in July.
