Samuel Dalembert in Haiti Announces Plans for Sports Complex

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - NBA star Samuel Dalembert of the Sacramento Kings arrived in Haiti, accompanied by the WNBA's Nykesha Sales and representatives from the NBA where he announced plans to build a sports complex in the country.

Dalembert during the press conference on Friday, said discussions on the subject with the President of the Republic, Michel Martelly has already begun.

According to Dalembert, sites have already been considered by the Government, including Cité Soleil, the largest shantytown North of the capital. The basketball player said he himself would provide the funding through his foundation.

"This will be a center where young people can go to weekend for fun and study." "They will have the opportunity to continue their homework there and go to school," says Samuel Dalembert, which States that "this will be something like YMCA".
