PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - On Monday, Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe was installed as the Minister of Planning and External Cooperation. To this effort he pledged to work quickly to bring results in the shortest time possible.
Tuesday, August 14, 2012. His Excellency Laurent Salvador Lamothe was installed in his new role as the Minister of Planning and External Cooperation, Monday, Aug. 13. Already, he goes to work well for fulfilling the mission of this ministry which is to develop national plans for economic and social development and improve the planning systems to enable the optimal use of available resources for a balanced economic and social development.
Aware of the challenge that awaits and many people's expectations, S.E.M. Laurent Salvador Lamothe put it this way: "We will work hard to deliver results quickly. The Prime Minister is responsible for coordinating, planning, is responsible for implementation. After a site visit and initial contact with the staff of the Ministry of Planning and External Cooperation, we find that the team has a good mastery of the issues of the institution."
The new number one MPCE promises that he will quickly develop the framework for coordination of external cooperation and a cell that can enforce priorities. Speaking to his new team, Laurent Salvador Lamothe has made it clear: "I have no time to work, we want quick results based on objectives." He reminded his colleagues that the mandate to work is short and it is imperative to leave the traces of a job well done to meet the demands of the Martelly-Lamothe Government.
