Martelly: I am conferred with the title of President, but I will remain a servant

President-elect, Michel Martelly, moved in closer with the religious community of Haiti on Tuesday by participating in a revival organized by the, popular, Shalom Church and Radio in Port-au-Prince.

Martelly asked for the prayers of the members of the congregation and those listening, ahead of his inauguration on May 14th. The President-elect delivered an animated oration that impressed listeners all across the nation.

"The government must become a servant and not serve itself, if you want, confer me with the title of President, but I will remain a servant," said Martelly before an enthusiastic response.

The new president continued saying, "of all the Presidents who preceded me, I am the only one who is ready to give his life to change this country," the congregation erupted.

The former "President of Kompa" called for more collaboration and inclusion of the population which had not been heard in the past.

Martelly warned the nation that there will be "no great victory without sacrifice."
