Haiti: Judiciary Submits 3 Names for Permanent Electoral Council

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - On Tuesday, the Haitian Judiciary submitted its list to the President of the Republic of three councilors that would sit on the Permanent Electoral Council.
Tuesday, July 24, 2012: The Office of Communication of the Presidency informs the general public, by correspondence dated July 24, 2012, the Supreme Council of the Judiciary submitted to the Head of State, His Excellency Mr. Michel Joseph Martelly, the list of three names to represent the Permanent Electoral Council.
While congratulating the Judiciary for its contribution to the establishment of this body called to achieve the next parliamentary and municipal elections in the country, the President of the Republic calls on the Legislative Branch to follow suit as soon as possible to complement the Permanent Electoral Council.
President Michel Joseph Martelly reiterates, once again, his determination to lead the country towards the rule of law and democracy and calls on all stakeholders to achieving this objective in the best interests of the nation.
