DAVOS, Switzerland (defend.ht) - President Michel Martelly arrived Wednesday in Switzerland where he shall participate in the 42nd World Economic Forum in Davos. The Head of State is participating in the annual high mass of capitalism before going to the "Week of Haiti" in Dublin (Northern Ireland).
The head of state left Port-au-Prince early Wednesday without making any statements to the press, radio Kiskeya reported.
"He will explore the current situation and to examine how the international community can assist the country to advance strategies to achieve sustainable growth," said the Presidency in a statement. The Haitian leader also seeks to attract foreign investors, says the note.
In this perspective, four Haitian ministers, including Chancellor Laurent Lamothe, are in Europe since last week.
After Davos, Mr. Martelly is scheduled to visit Southern Ireland which runs until January 28 the "Week of Haiti."
Travel as head of state coincides with the amplification of the charges which he is subject from a Senator of the Republic for his alleged dual US-Italian citizenship.
Following the persistent allegations of Senator Jean-Charles Moise (Nord/Inite), a Senate committee of inquiry was formed with a mandate to verify the nationality of Michel Martelly, but also 38 other members of the Executive.
