President Martelly leaves Haiti with much work to be done

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - President Michel Martelly acknowledged in his state of the union address that much work remained to be done in Haiti but will travel, on Tuesday, to Nicaragua to attend the inauguration of its new president.
In a press release, the Office of the Presidency invited the press to a conference at the Toussaint Louverture International Airport before he would fly to Nicaragua to see its new president, Daniel Ortega Saaverdra be inaugurated.
Although it was vaguely reported that President Martelly conceded mistakes in his State of the Union, it appears that one of the biggest criticisms of his time in office continue; the president travels leaving important work unfinished.
The nation of Haiti is in a Constitutional crisis without its official document published. Less than half of the members of the supreme court have been chosen. A third of the Haitian senate and over 140 local authorities will have their mandates end in May, no election date has been scheduled.
