President Martelly Official Visit to South Florida

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - The President of the Republic of Haiti, Michel Martelly, will travel to the United States over the weekend for a series of stops and meetings with the diaspora community.
This will be the first official trip of the president to the United States since his inauguration on May 14.
The president will be in the attendance of the Consulate General of Haiti in Miami and former Miami Heat, NBA player, Tim Hardaway for a midday brunch. The event will take place at 10 am on Saturday at the campus of Florida International University in the Kovens Conference Center.
In the evening, Consul Ralph Latortue, will host a private reception in honor of the president at the Soho Beach House in Miami. This event is sponsored by the Haiti Investment Team.
The president will be celebrating "Haiti Diaspora Day" and unveiling the "Haiti Means Business" campaign. Proceeds from the events go towards the Haiti National Fund for Education.
