Haiti: Commissioner Senatus Very Concerned about Begging Near the Airport

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) – The Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince, Jean Renel Senatus is very concerned about the uncertainty involved in the begging observed particularly in areas surrounding the international airport Toussaint Louverture.
On Vision 2000, Commissioner Senatus announced that his office would take actions against what he considers a phenomenon. “On Monday, formal instructions will be passed to the police,” said the commissioner also engaged in a crusade against juvenile delinquency.
According to Commissioner Senatus, among the individuals who practice begging around the airport are gangs of thugs. The connection was made following the arrest of an some suspects involved in the murder of a citizen last week.
The commissioner reaffirmed his commitment to enforcing the law in these matters. The head of prosecutions said he is a “born protector” of society and will not fail in his mission.
