Laurent Lamothe Ratified as Prime Minister of the Republic of Haïti

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - On Thursday May 3, the Chamber of the Lower House of Haiti (The Chamber of Deputies) voted to ratify the designated Prime Minister of President Michel Martelly, Laurent Lamothe.

The discussions on ratification centered on the nationality of Laurent Lamothe, his residency and record of paying taxes.

The next time the prime minister-designate will be before the senate for a vote will be for the declaration of policy.

Vote: 62 Yeas, 3 Nays and 2 Abstentions.
