Senator Jean-Charles Warns of a Martelly Dictatorship

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - On Wednesday morning, following the Tuesday night session which saw the ratification of Prime Minister Garry Conille, Senator Moïse Jean-Charles of the Nord Department apologized to the Haitian people and the world for President Michel Martelly and warned of his intention to establish a dictatorship.

The morning news show, Acualité 2000 anchored by Jean Evifleur Denisca, on Vision 2000 Radio was an interview with Senator Jean-Charles to inquire his remarks after separating from the G16 to be one of three senators to vote against the ratification of Garry Conille.

Senator Jean-Charles told radio listeners that he holding to his convictions from the fact that Dr. Garry Conille had not fulfilled the obligations required by the Constitution of Haiti 1987, ARTICLE 157-5 and the fact that every document submitted by Conille for ratification had some inconsistency, led him to vote unfavorably to his ratification.

The Senator of the Nord explained that members of his majority bloc vote in favor of Conille due to the pressure of not having a government established after four months of the new presidency.

Later in the interview the discussion became more lively as Jean-Charles paused for a moment to ask pardon for the President of the Republic of Haiti. Jean-Charles asked pardon from the Haitian people, the diaspora and the international community for the president because he, Mr. Martelly, "doesn't know anything about anything."

Senator Jean-Charles also warned of the dangers of the president asking citizens to be wary of Martelly who intends to establish a dictatorship in 2011 Haiti. Jean-Charles warned of military boot camps already training soldiers and certain alliances made by the president.

Although lacking specifics to the charges made against the president on Vision 2000, Senator Jean-Charles promised to return during the evening show of Anchorman Denisca to provide the details and names.
