Legislative Commission Requests to Verify Documents of Garry Conille

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - A commission of nine formed in the Chamber of Deputies on Tuesday tasked with verifying the supporting documents for the ratification of the Prime Minister-designate, Garry Conille.

The commission is chaired by the member of parliament from Desdunes, Levaillant Louis-Jeune and the commission has written to the president officer of the lower house, Deputy Sorel Jacinthe, asking him to invite Dr. Garry Conille to file his documents.

Taking into account the political configuration of the Lower House, the committee consists of members Levaillant Louis-Jeune (Chair), Joseph Benoit Laguerre (Vice President), Descolines Abel (Secretary-rapporteur), Jean Ronal Oscar Ruffine Labbé, René Jean Lochard, Batiste Lamarre, Wanique Pierre (members).

The creation of the special commission to the House of Representatives comes just 24 hours after the official designation of Garry Conille by President Michel Martelly.

Conille is a senior official of the United Nations who has already sparked debate on the issue of residence. Until his appointment to the post, Conille had been working in Niger, Africa on behalf of the UN. And before that for other organizations in New York and other countries since 2004.
