Prime Minister Talks Begin, No Name Mentioned

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - Senate President, Rodolphe Joazile, and his colleague in the lower house, Sorel Jacinthe, had their first meeting Friday with the Head of State, Michel Martelly for consultations leading to the appointment of a new Prime Minister.
Interviewed by Radio Kiskeya , the Senator of the Nord-Est said that the meeting lasted three hours and took place at the official residence of the head of the outgoing government, Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive.
Senator Joazile said a designation for Prime Minister was not made at the meeting. President Martelly has taken on a different approach consulting with members of parliament before making his decision.
Rodolphe Joazile says the will of Parliament is the rapid formation of a new government that will work to meet the major challenges of the day. Joazile hopes that President Martelly will announce his decision in accordance with the prescription of the constitution, next week.
In power for more than three months, the head of state has seen two choices for Prime Minister, Daniel Rouzier and Bernard Gousse rejected in parliament.
