New Chief Prosecutor Reopens Electoral Fraud Case Against CEP

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti - After replacing Harrycidas Auguste as Head of State Prosecutions in Port-au-Prince, Jean-Francois Sonel has reopened the investigation into apparent fraud and alleged bribery of the President of the Provisional Electoral Council, Gaillot Dorsinvil.
The head of the prosecution, Mr. Jean-François Sonel, confirmed Saturday that he had issued arrest warrants against three electoral advisers, among them President Dorsinvil Gaillot, as part of the investigation on serious allegations of electoral fraud which is being the Provisional Electoral Council.
In addition to Mr. Dorsinvil, Pastor Leonel Ribelli Raphael and Pierre, respectively Secretary General and member of the CEP, are also actively sought.
Commissioner Jean-Francois said he had passed instructions to the Central Directorate of Judicial Police (DCPJ) so that the three perpetrators are apprehended anywhere because of their consistent refusal to accept the invitations of the floor.
