Mayor Andre Pierre Wins Reelection in North Miami

Voters in the city of North Miami headed to the polls Tuesday to elect a mayor, two city council members and a city clerk.

In the race for mayor, incumbent Andre Pierre won re-election, despite a number of controversies surrounding him including the March arrest of his nephew, who served as his campaign manager.

Despite that, Pierre won with just under 52 percent of the vote, avoiding a run-off election. Incumbents Scott Galvin and Marie Erlande Steril were re-elected, and Micheal Etienne was also a winner in the race for city clerk.
