The ceremony was attended by Prime Minister Laurent Salvador Lamothe, the Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, Jacques Nixon Myrthil, the ambassador-designate, Ralph Latortue, the Director General of the Department, Azad Belfort, Professor Denis P . Regis, executives of the Chancellor and many guests we learn from Le Nouvelliste.

In his remarks for the occasion, Minister Casimir expressed gratitude to the President of the Republic, Michel Joseph Martelly, and Prime Minister Lamothe, for the confidence they have placed in him. From the outset, he gave assurances that he will spare no effort to justify their confidence and earn their approval in all actions undertaken.

"You will agree with me to the extreme difficulty for anybody to succeed a man of the caliber of the Prime Minister at the head of the Haitian diplomacy. During his ten months, with proactive and committed management, he has fundamentally transformed all levels of services and gave new impetus to the country's diplomacy. Diplomacy rather too long focused on the representation gradually gives way to a good proactive dosage to truly serve the interests of Haiti and its citizens abroad..." - Pierre Richard Casimir

Casimir mentioned the concept of business diplomacy advocated by his predecessor, which is both innovative and highly adapted to the global environment of international politics and the demands of reconstruction and development of Haiti.

Casimir committed to continuing and deepening all the major projects initiated by his predecessor in line with the vision of the Head of State and major strategic directions outlined in the policy statement of the Prime Minister.

The former Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs said he was flattered to have the opportunity to continue the implementation of business diplomacy as part of reconstruction and development. He intends to preserve the gains of Haiti's relations with its traditional friends, consolidating them and also working to diversify Haiti's partners in bilateral cooperation while digging in the field of cooperation with South American partners.

Strengthening Continuity

Several actions in terms of monitoring and enhancing the achievements of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs were announced by the new Minister on Tuesday. He mentioned:
personal and administrative reforms in the domestic operations and in the external services, embassies and consulates of Haiti abroad,
the modernization of human resources management, including the development of a genuine policy of human resource management of the department and their career in diplomacy,
and accelerating the process of establishing the Diplomatic Academy that will create the MAEC by organizing the first series of seminars in September.

Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe welcomed the investment of the new chancellor to his former post.

"I am confident that the new Chancellor will live up to continue the work at the chancellery with the same dedication in putting his talents and experience to serve our country and to give results."

"You have a lot of work. Haiti must move forward and know we must continue to further promote the country's image on the international scene..."

"To strengthen the position of Haiti in the world, we must strengthen our embassies and consulates and contribute to the renovation abroad because it is the first contact between Haiti and foreigners." - Laurent Lamothe
