PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) – Prime Minister Garry Conille announced on Wednesday the formation of The Audit Commission which will have the task of auditing the contracts signed under the emergency law of the past administration and on matters of his government through the coming years.
The Audit Commission was incorporated with Stanley Gaston, Paul Rachel Cadet and Uder Antoine, as its senior auditor.
Prime Minister Conille had announced in November his intention to oversee the management of public funds and their expenditures. This would be the first concrete action by his government.
On Monday the Council of Ministers adopted a re-draft of the Finance Bill for 2011-2012, as the first was subjected to heavy criticism by parliamentarians and a bill on the National Fund for Education which was established in May 2011 but not put into a legal framework.
