PM to Clarify How Haiti Gave $300M[US] in Reconstruction Contracts to Dominicans

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - Prime Minister Garry Conille and Minister of Finance, André Lemercier George, are invited to a hearing in the senate next week to explain how Haiti gave $300 million [US] in construction contracts to Dominican firms.
Reported on Radio Vision 2000, these contracts would included the reconstruction of five government buildings including the Legislative Chambers.
Senator Steven Benoit (Ouest/Alternative), first secretary of the Upper House, made the announcement adding that the head of government and the general treasurer of the Republic will also provide clarification on these funds released by the Interim Commission for Reconstruction of Haiti (IHRC) whose term expired back in October 2011.
