Haiti: Foreign Affairs Minister Meets with Haitian Taxi Drivers in Paris

PARIS, France (defend.ht) – The Minister of Foreign Affairs, Laurent Lamothe, met with the Association of Haitian Taxis of Paris (AHTP) during a visit to France.

The minister delivered a speech to taxi drivers saying that they are an extension of the embassy of Haiti. In his remarks to the ATHP, Lamothe said it was homage that he came to give to the drivers and recognize the work that they do in the community.

”The president asked me who will I be going to meet.”

”I told him I would be meeting the French foreign affairs minister, the minister of cooperation, minister of culture… but he said the first people I should meet are the taxi drivers.”

The minister discussed the government’s vision of cooperating with Haitians abroad and programs such as education for all.
