Haiti: Two Ministers and a Secretary of State Appointed

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - Michel Brunache and journalist Pierre Raymond Dumas are respectively appointed to the Ministries of Justice and Culture, while Pierre-Richard Casimir, Consul of Haiti in Montreal, replaces Brunache as Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs.
The Executive issued the order Thursday to appoint new ministers of Justice and Culture and a Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs, announced Prime Minister Garry Conille.
This decision came to fill a gap of several weeks in the Martelly / Conille government. Michel Brunache becomes minister of justice and public safety while the journalist and writer Pierre-Raymond Dumas gets the job of culture and communication.
Mr Brunache is successor to Josue Pierre-Louis forced to resign before his interpellation in the Senate due to arbitrary arrest, in October, of the Deputy Arnel Belizaire.
Mr. Dumas, chosen by the platform Inite, replaces Henriquez Choiseul, who died last month from an illness that prevented him from taking office at the Ministry of Culture.
In addition to the appointment of two ministers, the Consul of Haiti in Montreal, Pierre-Richard Casimir, was promoted to Secretary of State for Foreign Affairs. A position previously held by Michel Brunache, former Secretary General of the Presidency under the interim administration of his stepfather, Mr. Boniface Alexandre (2004-2006).
The Martelly / Conille cabinet has thirteen ministers and 19 state secretaries.
