Man Shot Dead at Presidential Adviser Roro Nelson Home

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - A 30-year old man was shot dead Thursday night in front of the home of Presidential Adviser and close friend of Michel Martelly, Ronald "Roro" Nelson.
Denis Vincent received a bullet to the back of the head confirmed the Government Commissioner of Port-au-Prince, Jean Renel Senatus.
Security guards of Nelson told the Chief of the Petion-Ville Police Department that Denis Vincent arrived at the residence of Roro Nelson with two other individuals with the intention of breaking into the home.
An unidentified witness in an article by Le Matin said Vincent was shot when he demanded a job.
The incident took place at a gate in front of the Nelson residence near the public street.
Vincent is a father of a 4-year old boy. The mother of his son was inconsolable, according to Commissioner Senatus, but she told the commissioner that Vincent was often at the home of Roro Nelson and that the two were friends.
One of the security guards are currently being detained for questioning. Senatus said an investigation is underway to determine what took place that caused the 30-year old to lose his life.
Ronald Nelson is currently on probation by a Massachusetts, USA court which found him guilty for assaulting with a deadly weapon his ex-girlfriend.
