Bodies found More Missing after Haitian Migrant Boat Sinks

MIAMI, USA (defend.ht) - Eleven bodies were recovered and 13 are unaccounted for, among them, children, as a boat carrying 28 Haitian migrants developed engine trouble and sank on its way to the United States.
U.S. Coast Guard Spokesman, Petty Officer Jon-Paul Rios delivered the troubling news that four of those on board made it safely to the Bahamian shore near Hawksbill Cay and alerted officials there.
The U.S. Coast Guard sent three aircraft, one of which a rescue helicopter to the scene after the Bahamian authorities asked for help. This is when the 11 bodies were found.
The Consulate of Haiti in Orlando expressed its deep sadness from the terrible tragedy of June 10,2012.
The consulate presented its sympath to the parents and friends of the victims and took the opportunity to express gratitude to the US Coast Guardswhich showed courage and determination to have allowed the rescue of 7 of the travelers.
The Consulate of Haiti in Orlando reiterated its commitment to work tirelessly, and invited all active force of the nation to join in doing the same, to boost a fast economic recover in Haiti that will prevent people desperate for better life opportunities to risk their lives in dangerous seas in the future.
