567 Haitians deported from D.R. in April

OUANAMINTHE, Haiti (defend.ht) - The Border Network of Jeannot Success (RFJS) reported that 567 Haitians were deported from the Dominican Republic in the month of April. 498 men, 67 women and 2 children who may not have been afforded due process. These people were left at the border by Dominican authorities, added the network defending human rights.

GONAIVES, Haiti (defend.ht) - The town of GonaÃ¯ves was hot this week in violent protest because of a rumor that had gotten out of hand. Gonaiviens heard that a taxi driver had been killed at the hands of a police officer for not having insurance or a current tag for his vehicle. The City of Independence did not stand for that but would later learn that the information had not been accurate.
