Paraguayans Irate after Snub by the 'Prince of Haiti'

ASCUNCION, Paraguay - Paraguayans are besides themselves after a Haitian, Emmanuel Fannor, claiming to be the Prince of Haiti defected from a top TV dance competition show.
Professional dancer, Emmanuel Fannor, was to participate in a television dance competition called "Baila Conmigo" (Dance with Me) that was due to start on Tuesday, August 9 in Paraguay.
But a few days before the launch of the television show, Paraguay's "Dancing with the Stars", Fannor withdrew. "The Prince of Haiti gave up Baila Conmigo", the Paraguayan media assailed against Fannor.
Haiti Press Network learned the reason for Fannor's withdrawal was that "he claims that the judges are not at his level and that Paraguayans can not gauge the Prince that he is," written in a correspondence to HPN by Escura Marta, a Paraguayan journalist who wanted to inquire about Emmanuel Fannor's royal family in Haiti.
"The Haitian said he could not be judged by people who are not at his level or people unfamiliar with his work as an artist to put a note," read another online Paraguayan newspaper.
Arriving in Paraguay a few years ago, Emmanuel "The Prince" Fannor didn't speak a word of Spanish. He still uses an interpreter. Fannor is followed everywhere by bodyguards and an attendant of protocol. He is often accompanied by a blonde who would be his wife.
The producers of the television program "Baila conmigo" told the press they are putting pressure on Fannor to either do the show or be prosecuted for breach of contract.
More information: Haiti has experienced in the 19th century two empires and a kingdom (North), which disappeared with the death of King Henry the first in 1820. She is now a republic.
