Gov't Acquired Haitel Will Soon Be Operational

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - Haitel, now owned by the Haitian government will soon be functional through the communications regulator, CONATEL and internal revenue service, DGI who work to make the only alternative to Digicel functional again.

Since these two entities, CONATEL and DGI, have come into possession of the mobile phone company that went bankrupt, significant work has been done on the network informed the Director General of CONATEL, Jean Marie Guillaume.

At this stage, discussions are underway with the supplier of Haitel equipment to evaluate the network and very soon the customer service availability, the director general informed the public through Vision 2000.
