CROIX-DES-BOUQUETS, Haiti - On the fourth day of Reconstruction Week the Haitian officials and the press were given the opportunity to view several housing concepts being entertained by the Government of Haiti and the Interim Haiti Recovery Commission (IHRC) for their Building Back Better Communities (BBBC) initiative.

Manufacturers of prefabricated homes and buildings descended on Croix-des-Bouquet with fully constructed prototypes as propositions at the Zoranje Village Housing Expo.

Company leaders hope that their model will be chosen to be the BBBC's Exemplar Community Development's choice which would mean the design would be duplicated hundreds of times over throughout the Haitian territory.

The event was attended by President Michel Martelly and IHRC Chairmen, Prime Minister Jean-Max Bellerive and former U.S. President Bill Clinton.

President Michel Martelly lauded the expo and presenters saying "this expo for Haitian housing merits our admiration for the effort that it symbolizes."
