Prezidansyèl
Vòt yo Preval
- Dimanch, 20 Mas, 2011 11:08 PM

Oumenm ekri Prezidan Rene Preval jete bilten vòt li nan Dimanch nan sant vòt anba lavil l 'yon ti tan apre biwo vòt yo louvri.
Apre vòt li yo, Preval fè apèl pou kalm, rele vòt prezidansyèl la, premye tou an dezyèm kouri-off nan istwa elektoral Ayiti a, yon etap enpòtan nan konsolide demokrasi nan peyi a.
"I hope the day will go well, that the results won't have any trouble, so we can have an elected president to replace me," he told reporters.
The election started slowly with delays and missing materials that dogged early voters, even in Preval's voting center.
A shipment of ink and additional ballot boxes arrived later in the morning, and the center's supervisor said it was a minor glitch.
It was a peaceful election compared to the years prior. The president has reached the constituonal limit of two terms and can not be president again.
Rene Preval, an old and quiet man is one of the few leaders in Haitian history to survive his term in office; and he did it twice. Preval served as Prime Minister for Jean-Bertrand Aristide managing the aftermath of two coup d'etats. As president, Preval kept steady through food shortages and apocalyptic events such as the hurricanes of 2008 and the earthquake of 2010.
Only time will tell how history will judge the first president of Haiti's modern era, but at least for tonight, for Preval, he has a monument of peace.
