Haiti: 11 Ambassadors and Consul Generals Appointed

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) – President Michel Martelly has named a dozen new ambassadors and consul generals for North America, Latin America and Asia.
Guillaume François and Charles Antoine Forbin are appointed Consul General Consul General in Miami and New York have.
The ratification process of the ambassadors and consuls general in the Senate began Thursday with the filing of Alix Balmir’s documents, the potential leader of the Haitian diplomatic mission in Panama. A career diplomat, Mr. Balmir is also the father of the Minister of Tourism, Stephanie Balmir Villedrouin.
The head of state has also chosen Paul Altidor for the position of ambassador of Haiti in Washington and the businessman Frantz Liautaud, president of the Chamber of Commerce Haitian-Canadian to represent the country in Ottawa.

The other appointments are former civil servant and diplomat Victor Harvel Jean-Baptiste (Chile), former consul of Haiti in Miami, Ralph Latortue (Bahamas), David Lesly (Venezuela), Antonio Rodrigo (Japan) and John Wesley Cazeau, Permanent Representative to the Mission of Haiti to the United Nations in New York.
