Novas Tecnologias da Informação prisão objectivo de reforçar o Estado de Direito

O Departamento de Administração Penitenciária na segunda-feira inaugurado em suas instalações uma nova instituição para o tratamento de reclusos.
The Director of the DAP, Jean Roland Celestin, said that this center will enable better management of information circulating in the system.
"Thanks to the center, we can better monitor and identify each inmate as well as crimes committed by them," said Celestin stating that this will permit the implementation of better public security.
Celestin indicated that with the center, the DAP has taken an important step in the modernization of the prison system. The information will be secure as managed by a server located abroad adding that fires that often, prison breaks and riots in detention centers, will have no effect on the information managed by the center.
The center, built with funding from the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) to the tune of $175,000[USD] will, among other things, develop skills and expertise of its personnel, clerks and others working in the 18 centers across the country, Deputy Director of UNDP, Marc-André Franche added.
The center's goal, according to Mr. Frank, to allow inmates and other system stakeholder to ensure better monitoring of various stages of the criminal process and reduce detention time whether preventive or curative.
The establishing of the build is an important step in the development of the prison administration and the strengthening of the rule of law in Haiti.
