PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht) - Como todas as outras sociedades bíblicas e congregações religiosas no mundo, a Sociedade Bíblica do Haiti celebrou o Dia Mundial da Bíblia, domingo, 11 de dezembro, 2011.
The Haitian Bible Society wished to reaffirm its mission to the whole Christian community in Haiti, which is to spread the Bible as much as possible.
On the occasion of World Day of the Bible, reported Haitian newspaper Le Nouvelliste, the Secretary General of the Haitian Bible Society, Magda N. Victor, in his message for the occasion, reiterated the pressing invitation is sent to each to answer this question: "What shall I do with Jesus?” However, the question today is not only "What shall I do with Jesus? "But also" What should I do in the Bible? "Some might ask:" What connection is there between the two, Jesus and the Bible (or Scriptures)? "
According to Ms. Victor, it is up to each to each, to search the Scriptures to discover who Jesus is and decide what to do with it bravely, without being influenced by the crowd - as did Pilate. Haitian Bible Society is an association Interfaith Service of all Christian denominations in Haiti. It is a non-profit, established since April 14, 1978 and recognized by the Haitian State.
For the Executive Director of this institution, in solemn Sunday when all evangelical Christians celebrate the Bible, the Haitian Bible Society wants to reaffirm its mission to the whole Christian community of Haiti that the Bible is to disseminate as widely as possible.
Today, the Bible is translated in full in 450 languages (including Haitian Creole) and partly in 2527 languages spoken on the 6500 on the planet. President Abraham Lincoln, who abolished slavery in the United States, said: "I believe that the Bible is the best gift God has ever given to man. All the good the Savior of the world is communicated to us by this book. "
