PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht/PRH) - Monday, April 2, 2012: The Presidency of the Republic categorically rejects the allegations that the President of the Republic, His Excellency Mr. Michel Joseph Martelly, has been involved in any corruption case involving firms or personalities from the Dominican Republic.
It unreservedly condemns the fanciful accusations brought unjustly against the Head of State in connection with the broadcast of Dominican Journalist Nuria Piera on Saturday, March 31, 2012.
This media lynching of the President of the Republic is part of a larger campaign to poison public opinion to sully the image of President Martelly and undermine his integrity.
The Presidency is convinced also that this attack waged against the person of the Head of State participates in a process tending to obstruct the policy change and modernization of the state that the President of the Republic begins to establish in the country.
