Ayiti: Martelly te di ke li pral rankontre Oprah nan Lendi

PORT OF SPAIN, Trinidad (defend.ht) — President Michel Martelly said he will meet Oprah Winfrey during her visit to Haiti which would begin on Sunday.
Winfrey is expected to arrive Sunday evening and on Monday visit a settlement camp for displaced people run by Hollywood actor Sean Penn. She is also expected to meet with fashion designer Donna Karan who works with artisans through her Urban Zen Foundation.
Martelly also told Press ki asosye , while in Trinidad for the Caricom-Cuba Summit, “I am hoping she will serve as an ambassador for Haiti, to help us get the kind of assistance needed.”
The AP says Winfrey’s Harpo Studios spokesman Chance Patterson, could not be reached for comment Friday night.
President Martelly was not expected to make the appointment with Winfrey but recent cancellations of missions to Argentina, Suriname and France have permitted.
Oprah is in Haiti for a taping of her first show since returning to television, Oprah’s Next Chapter. It is a primetime talk show airing on the OWN Network starting New Years Day.
