Pierre Garçon Signs with Washington Redskins

WASHINGTON, D.C. (defend.ht) - Pierre Garçon was signed by the National Football League's Washington Redskins earlier this month as his former team, the Indianapolis Colts have taken to completely overhaul the ball club.

Redskins Head Coach Mike Shanahan is excited about acquiring Garçon, who he calls a "top-of-the-list playmaker", to compliment his rookie quarterback, Heisman trophy winner, 2nd overall pick, Robert Griffin III.

Garçon is expected to play one of the outside receiver positions because of his "exceptional straightaway speed" that will help stretch the field. Garçon's size and physical play is ideal if Quarterback Griffin were to break the pocket and need some down field blocking from his receivers.

The Indianapolis Colts will start the 2012-13 season with new coaching staff and virtually an entirely new team. Receiver Reggie Wayne is one of the very few who were resigned to stay in Indy.
