U.S. Customs Bust Cocaine Smuggler Traveling from Haiti

NEW YORK, USA (defend.ht/NY Post) - Customs officers at JFK International Airport busted a drug smuggler traveling from Haiti who packed cocaine inside sticks of deodorant, ink markers and hundreds of buttons.

The Slovakian suspect Tomas Sykora, 26, had flown on May 8 and aroused suspicion while trying to get through customs because of what officials said was his nervous answers to agents' questions.

He was then brought to a private room where officers opened his particularly heavy black suitcase and noticed an ammonia smell and found the cocaine after examining a large marker. The drug can emit an ammonia smell.

The items with cocaine hidden inside include 16 markers, 17 sticks of Dove and Odorex deodorant, 24 bottles of nail polish, and about 684 buttons.
