Colombia, BID acuerdo para impulsar la producción de café haitiano

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haití (defend.ht) - El Banco Interamericano de Desarrollo (BID) y la Federación Colombiana de Cafeteros firmaron el martes un acuerdo para aumentar la producción de café en Haití fuera del foro de inversión en Haití.
Informado por el Haití Press Network , this partnership promotes the production of coffee as an instrument of poverty reduction.
The global food company, Nestlé, in conjunction with program partners will provide free new seeds to farmers of coffee.
The President of the IDB, Luis Alberto Moreno praised the Haitian coffee, while expressing confidence opportunities What will this agreement in promoting the product.
The program plans to improve the quality of life of 10,000 small farmers over a period of 3 years.
Former U.S. President William J. Clinton, one of the promoters of the Haitian production on the international market has welcomed the choice of the Colombian Federation of coffee and the IDB to invest in the production of Haitian coffee as it considers competitive.
This cooperation also aims exchanges on best practices in coffee production, reforestation and security of small farmers in Haiti.
