Dominicaine marcha contre Haïtiens illégaux

Le Jeudi 31 Mars 2011, des centaines de Dominicains ont manifesté contre la présence des Haïtiens illégaux dans la ville de Santiago, DR.
The demonstrators were demanding that the Dominican government take drastic actions against illegal Haitians.The protest started in Park Duarte. The demonstrators marched through the streets of Del Sol, Beller, Duarte and Sánchez.
Francisco Consuegra, spokesperson for the protestors stated “We are defending our sovereignty because the Dominican labor has been virtually eliminated in building’s construction.” Mr. Consuegra continued to say that contractors and engineers continue to hire illegal Haitians.
