Martelly Disease: "It would be a miracle"

PORT-AU-PRINCE, Haiti (defend.ht)- If the President Martelly ever really suffered a pulmonary embolism, it would be a miracle it cured so quickly. It would also be miraculous that President drove and flied to Miami without medical assistance, doubts Doctor and Senator Kelly Bastien, who asks to see Martelly’s medical report before believing his story.
To actually believe that the tenant of the National Palace suffered or still suffering from pulmonary embolism, Dr. Kelly C. Bastien asked to see the medical report of the president. According to the parliamentarian, it would be a miracle to recover so quickly from a pulmonary embolism.
A doctor by training, Mr. Bastien has expressed doubts about the rapid restoration of the head of state. "One can’t get healed of such a pathology within 48 hours unless it is a miracle," said the elected from North on Thursday morning on the air of a private radio station in Port -au-Prince. It would take at least three days without doing anything to monitor the health of the patient, he said.
Having laid the gown for a political career, Kelly C. Bastien looked forward to a certificate issued by doctors of the President before giving credence to reports that the president has actually been diagnosed with pulmonary embolism, a sudden blockage of a blood vessel. Again, the MP would be skeptical. "I would list the doctor establishing such a certificate and I would recognize in him the ability to work miracles," said the ironic parliamentarian.
Kelly Bastien criticized the fact that information about the discomfort of the president were not provided by a specialist. Which he believes resulted in the misinterpretation of technical terms reserved for insiders.
The MP has also denounced the recklessness of the Head of State, who made the trip to Miami without medical assistance. A decision, he said, which could have serious consequences on the life of the president.
Despite his doubts, Kelly Bastien emphasized that pulmonary embolism is never a small complication. It is a condition that, he said, requires the greatest medical emergency.
