Haití: el presidente Martelly último ataque contra la libertad de prensa

CERCA CARVAJAL, Haití (defend.ht) - El presidente Michel Martelly renovó las hostilidades contra la libertad de prensa el miércoles, mostrando aprecio por las críticas de la prensa durante un evento en el que se está dando regalos y dinero a una multitud de alrededor de 200.

President Martelly called up a man who was holding a sign at the event in the Central Plateau (Centre) town of Cerca Carvajal which read Lapres bay prezidan a chans, Press give the President a chance.

Upon receiving the man on stage, Martelly said through the loud-speakers to the man, “I would give you $100,000 American dollars if I had it in my pocket right now.”

The president of the republic after being told by the man that the press talks too bad about him, the president awarded him with a motorcycle, taking pleasure in such attacks.

This event is the latest in a series of events since the inauguration of Michel Martelly where members of the press have been assaulted, threatened and had recording materials destroyed.
