PM Lamothe to Speak at Opening of Discover Haiti, Washington D.C.

NEW YORK, USA (defend.ht) - Prime Minister Laurent Lamothe will deliver remarks on Wednesday, June 13 in Washington, D.C. for the official opening of Discover Haiti, an exhibit of Haitian handcrafts and art organized by the Inter-American Development Bank’s Cultural Center and the Urban Zen and Nomad Two Worlds foundations.
The event is scheduled to start at 6:15 p.m. in the atrium of the IDB’s headquarters, 1300 New York Avenue, NW. Lamothe, who took office last month, will be introduced by IDB President Luis Alberto Moreno and Urban Zen’s founder, the fashion designer and philanthropist Donna Karan.
Discover Haiti, which will be open to the public June 11-27, from 11:00 a.m. to 6: p.m., will showcase artifacts made by men and women participating in Urban Zen’s Haiti Artisan Project. It will also feature large-scale pieces created jointly by Nomad Two World’s founder, Australian photographer Russell James, and renowned Haitian painter and sculptor Philippe Dodard.
