Pánico en la frontera haitiano-dominicana

El jueves una disputa entre un ciudadano dominicano y un ciudadano haitiano agitó un pánico con disparos en la frontera haitiano-dominicana en Malpasse.

It all started after a Dominican national had physically assaulted a Haitian national following an altercation within the territorial boundary of Haiti, Commissioner Frantz Lerebours of National Police of Haiti said.

In solidarity, other Haitians at the scene threw stones at Dominican soldiers stationed on the other side. The Dominican soldiers responded by firing their guns into the air.

Someone informed the HNP officers of the Corps of Intervention and Enforcement (CIMO), a specialized unit of the HNP and they were dispatched immediatley to the scene.

"No loss of life or injured by bullets is to be deplored" Commissioner Lerebours, added.

This is not the first incinedent of its kind to take place on the Haitian-Dominican border thus, these events clearly show the lack of competence of the Haitian and Dominican public officials in managing the public affairs of their people.
