D.R. Deporta 300 en 3 Semanas

SANTO DOMINGO - El director de Migración de República Dominicana, José Ricardo Taveras, llegó a un acuerdo con los consejos de barrio en el sur de Santiago para evitar que para sustituir al Estado a expulsar a los haitianos.
The Al Momento newspaper reported that Mr. Taveras, who took office three weeks ago, stated in five operations his administration has deported 300 illegal Haitian nationals living in the city of Santiago. He added that close to a thousand Haitians who were living in different parts of the country, and dozens of other foreign nationals were also deported to their respective country in the last week.
Mr. Pedro Paulino, who is the president of the Coordinator United Community Organizations South Zone Santiago, said that community organizations and immigration authorities have reached several agreements to control the illegal immigration situation in their neighborhoods.
Officials will announce a press conference with community leaders from 42 districts of the city and the representative of International Organization for Migration (IOM), CY Winter.
