LOS ANGELES, USA (defend.ht) - Oprah Winfrey's return as a host, since retiring from ABC and starting her "OWN" network, will air prime time in a series called Oprah's Next Chapter which brings her to Haiti in its first season.
"After 25 years I got myself out of the studio chairs. I moved into the next chapter, and I am having more fun than ever - moving around the country and the world talking to people I'm really interested in getting to know and I think viewers will be, too," said Winfrey. "It is so energizing to be out and about in the world exploring new people, new places and new ideas."
The OWN Network press room says Winfrey will travel with Actor/Activist Sean Penn, referring to the efforts to rebuild the country after the earthquake.
The visit of Oprah Winfrey is an opportunity to affect the tourism industry in Haiti, for better of for worse. Winfrey is a very popular personality and well trusted in American culture.
The series will air on Sundays 9:00 – 10:00 p.m. EST. The debut is on January 1, 2012.
