Princess Eud: Haitian radio/tv stations lost focus on Haitian music

In a recent interview, the very beautiful Princess Eud discussed an emerging problem with Haitian internet and radio stations that put Haitian music on the back burner.

In the Kompa! Magazine (KM) interview, the Princess, speaking in creole said:

"I think it is a huge problem because we've lost all that is ours, but now, we've gone too far. It's as if we are throwing away our own kids to adopt foreign kids. We're dissing our own brothers and we're kissing up to others that are not ours."

The songstress and rapper made a point to say that she doesn't think the industry should be entirely Haitian music, but the lengths today are "pathetic":

"I find it pathetic for a radio or tv station to focus for an entire day on another nation's music. I did not say that they should not play music from other countries, but not as much as they are now."

Princess Eud says that Haitian music is beautiful and can stand on its own. She questions is it that Haitians hate themselves, language or is it just the dog-eat-dog mentality of business.

At the end of the interview Eud shared her hope that directors of these radio and tv stations open their eyes and see what is happening around them and show respect for the work of Haitian artists.
