Arcade Fire to Film Live From Haiti Documentary

Album of the year (Grammys) winners, Arcade Fire and their Haitian-Canadian lead singer, Regine Chassagne, will head to Haiti for a series of live performances that will be documented by renowned photographer and filmmaker Leah Gordon.

Leah Gordon, is be known for her book, Kanaval, a colorful book dedicated to the Haitian carnival culture. The band will release the documentary by DVD, expected later this year.

Arcade Fire's founding member Regine Chassange is of Haitian descent, and left Haiti during the Papa Doc era. Her band has represented Haiti since its beginning and produced a song called Haiti in 2004. After the earthquake of 2010 Arcade Fire raised a million dollars to help the country recover.
