Haiti: Marcus Boereau Honored by Haitian Diplomat in Taiwan

TAIPEI, Taiwan (defend.ht) - At the annual ceremony to commemorate Haiti's independence on January 1st at the Haitian diplomatic offices in Taiwan, the charge d'affaires, Mario Chouloute, presented a trophy of "Honor and Merit" to Claude Marcus Boereau for bringing honor to Haiti in the televised singing competition Super Idol.
Reported by the Haiti Press Network , Marcus Bo became the first non-Asian finalist in Super Idol, he expressed his surprise and gratitude for the honor.
"I did not really expect it. I am very touched by this gesture. I want to again thank the Embassy of Haiti in Taiwan and my Haitian brothers here who were involved in this initiative," said Marcus Bo to HPN.
"Homage to Claude Marcus Boereau for his dedication to promoting Haitian culture beyond the borders Embassy of Haiti in Taipei, Republic of China on 1 January 2012", was inscribed on the trophy awarded to the signer in the presence of a few dozen students who made the trip to the embassy to celebrate 208 years of independence of Haiti.
The young Haitian scholars also spoke and thanked Marcus Bo for sending a positive image of the country the Asian continent.
