Haitian Art exhibited in "Art Basel Miami Beach"

MIAMI, USA (defend.ht) - Haiti's art is exhibited at the 10th edition of the "Art Basel Miami Beach" running from December 1 through 4, in Miami Beach, Florida. Haitian Minister of Tourism, Stephanie B. Villedrouin, attended the launch Thursday of one of the most prestigious art show of the United States.
Haiti is participating for the second time in this artistic event showcasing works by more than 2,000 artists of the 20th and 21st centuries. Haiti is represented by artists such as Philippe Dodard, Louisiana St Floris, Levoy Exil, Payas, Manuel Mathieuâ€¦
In her speech, Minister Stephanie Villedrouin congratulated Michele Frisch of Gallery Marasa and his team for their work to project a positive image of the country and to better position Haitian art internationally.
The Minister of Tourism took renewed the commitment of Haitian government to set up appropriate structures to facilitate foreign investment in the country. Madame Villedrouin also recalled that tourism is a priority of the Martelly-Cornille administration.
More than 260 galleries from North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia and Africa are participating in this 10th edition of the "Art Basel Miami Beach."
To mark this edition, Art Basel Miami Beach will inaugurate a new collaboration with the Bass Museum of Art on the Art Public sector, which will transform Collins Park with unique artworks and performances by renowned artists and emerging talents.
For the first time, Art Video will be presented in SoundScape Park on the large-scale outdoor projection wall of the New World Center, designed by Frank Gehry. The free public viewings will be part of a number of special events and performances taking place across Miami Beach for the duration of the show to celebrate the 10th edition.
