PARIS, France (defend.ht) - Georges Brassens: Echos d'Aujourd'hui, the second compilation album since his death more than 30 years ago is bringing together the most unexpected versions of the French artist, Brassens', songs. Artists from the world of bolero, Japanese and Russian folk, soft Polish jazz, Belgian punk and even Racine music, through Racine Mapou de Azor will do their adaptation of a Georges Brassens song.
This is the continuing success after the first compilation album was released in April 2011, to celebrate the 30th anniversary of the death of Georges Brassens; by the French label, Fanon, "Brassens, Echoes of the World."
Having thus proved a resounding success with lyrics and melodies, Brassens knew no borders and that each artist through their own culture could appropriate his music said Emile Omar, designer of the project who decided to continue this exciting experience with new versions created and recorded especially for the second volume: "Brassens, Echoes of the World, Today."
Along with 15 other artists from Mongolia, Colombia, and England, Racine Mapou de Azor was chosen to do its version of the song, "Testament" of Sète poet.
This unlikely meeting between the French songwriter and a rasin group gives rise to an interpretation that is both a re-creation as the words fit the context of Creole while the drums accelerate the pace of the ride to finally occupy the entire soundstage.
At the same time, Racine Mapou offers the first love song in the Rasin anthology. As stated by François Fortune, Tinonm, director of "Racine Mapou is not limited in its themes, the fact that the music is inherited by voodoo does not require us to not sing it and we're glad that this project has given us the opportunity to talk about love!"
Racine Mapou and joined his voice and drums to "Today Echos" to testify to both the vast musical wealth of the modern world and modernity etl'intemporalité the work of Georges Brassens.
